Wakin' Up Johnny

Wakin’ Up Johnny has been working together for two years as a four piece band, performing original material and cover pieces. The four-piece ensemble did not come together just by random chance. Duane Welsh (drums) and Mike Elder (guitar, writer) went on a daring quest to discover a new and fresh sound that would incorporate the smoothest rhythm and blues with the hard-hitting rock sounds, completed with a touch of reggae. Bob Robinson (vocal, guitar, and writer) made an early 2010 appearance at the jam house also known as the Dawg House for a session with Mike. An instant musical connection was made between the two. Following close behind was bassist Dennis Ridout, who arrived on the scene to fill in the rhythm section. The music continued to become tighter and gigs kept flowing in. They decided to cut an album entitled "Welcome to the Dawg House" from Dennis’ production space, The Blue Door Studio. The same studio also produced successful releases such as Demons and Saints, the Larry Jensen tribute.
Wakin’ Up Johnny is continuing to reach for their full potential.
Growing together and playing together is what wakes up the Johnny in all of us.
